Specializing in primary, elementary and intermediate education, Fern Hill combines the best traditional learning approaches with individualized techniques that have proven to be effective in engaging young minds.
French, Music and Physical Education are taught by subject specialists beginning in Preschool. Starting in Grade 3, History, Geography and Science are taught as separate subjects. French Geography is introduced in Grade 5 and Foreign Language study is offered in Grades 7 and 8. The IBM ThinkPad programme in Grade 8 enables students to use technology to complete their courses. Students also have the opportunity to take Grade 9 and 10 credit courses in Math and French.
Drama, Music and Art all play an important role in the curriculum at Fern Hill School. We believe studying and experiencing different artistic pursuits is essential to the social, emotional, physical and educational development and well being of every child. Fern Hill’s Drama, Vocal, Instrumental Music and Visual Arts programmes help children discover, develop and express their own inner creativity.
Our dedicated, caring and experienced teachers inspire learning in a warm, friendly, supportive environment that cultivates the personal growth of each child. Fern Hill teachers engage the students at every level. Conversations in the hallways go beyond school work. Teachers know our students as individuals – their ideas, their opinions, their interests and ambitions.
