Families choose Fern Hill not only because of its excellence in education, but also because our campus is warm and inviting with indoor and outdoor space that is rich with purpose.
Our 3,066 square metre (33,000 square foot) Burlington campus opened in 1999 and is easily accessibly from the QEW, 403, North Service Road and King Road. The school is tucked away on 8.9 hectares (22-acres) of land, providing a country feel in the middle of the city with towering trees, large playing fields and an outdoor education centre.
There is wide-open space where students can burn off energy, shoot hoops, play baseball or soccer and meet with friends during recess. Child-size Muskoka chairs in the light-filled hallways and original works of art hanging on the walls create an environment that inspires learning and creativity. The classrooms are tranquil spaces – each one with a ravine view. The state-of-the-art facility includes a fully equipped gymnasium, computer lab, library, science lab, music and art studios as well as engaging early learning classrooms.
In 2006, Fern Hill Burlington created an Outdoor Learning Centre on campus that has not only expanded the science curriculum, but assists students in understanding the fine balance between humans and nature.
